One of the country’s most senior police officers has branded Home Secretary, Suella Braverman, “horrific” for saying it was herFormer head of counter terrorism for the Metropolitan Police, Neil Basu, said Ms Braverman’s rhetoric was “inexplicable”.
He suggested politicians were talking about immigrants in a way that mirrored the sort of language used in 1968, when then Tory MP Enoch Powell delivered his infamous racist “Rivers of Blood” speech.
