It follows claims that Ms Braverman’s special adviser insisted the story was not true when approached by theThe aide denied four times that the Home Secretary had been caught speeding and claimed the allegations were “nonsense”, according to the newspaper. Asked if the special adviser’s behaviour was specifically being considered, the Prime Minister’s spokesman said on Tuesday: “I think there are issues that have been raised and they’re being looked at in the round.”
Appearing in the Commons on Monday for the first time since the allegations surfaced, Ms Braverman repeatedly insisted she had not broken any rules. “I paid the fine and I accepted the points and at no point did I seek to evade the sanction,” she told MPs.
