This the fourth summer bags of Phoslock are being loaded on boats so Lady Bird Lake will be safer for people and pets. The modified clay product is sprayed on the water to remove phosphorus and improve water quality. The same areas looked noticeably better on Monday. The water under the bridge at Barton Springs Road and at Red Bud Isle has smaller amounts of toxic algae.
“We’re seeing changes in the sediment chemistry, but it’s not to the same extent,” said Dr. Bellinger.
