The UK summer this year has been disappointing. But weather maps have shown a resurgence of hot temps in England for the end of the school holidays.
There's no disputing the summer this year has been unpredictable and a little disappointing. Nothing new there. But not long after the hottest day of the year was recorded – temperatures reached 34.8C in Cambridge on Monday 12 August – there's another heatwave on the way.
For the next two weeks, weather maps show temperatures ranging between 23C and 26C in those areas, especially around London. 'The most likely scenario is a period of unsettled weather, especially in the north and west with heavy rain and strong winds possible, while it may be warmer and less-wet towards the southeast,' the forecasting agency said, adding: 'By the weekend and the following week, a mobile westerly regime is likely, most of the wet weather in the north and west, and longer drier interludes in the southeast.
