Armagh and Galway dominate the 2024 selection while Oisin Conaty was named Man-of-the-Match for his performance in Sunday's All-Ireland final
The RTE Sunday Game Football Team of the Year has been confirmed with newly-crowned All-Ireland champions Armagh dominating the 2024 selection.
The Orchard County defeated Galway 1-11 to 0-13 in Sunday’s final in Croke Park and the All-Ireland finalists have taken 13 of the 15 slots. Kieran McGeeney’s men have eight players on the team including star forward Rian O’Neill and Oisin Conaty, who was named as the Sunday Game Man-of-the-Match from the decider. Blaine Hughes took the number one jersey with Armagh captain Aidan Forker included in the back-line along with Aaron McKay, who plundered the vital goal in the final, and Barry McCambridge.Ben Crealey and Conor Turbutt were also included with Galway taking five places, namely, Johnny McGrath, Dylan McHugh, Paul Conroy, John Maher and Rob Finnerty.
The remaining two slot went to Ulster champions and beaten semi-finalist Donegal with Peadar Mogan and Oisin Gallen included, but Kerry, who lost their semi-final to Armagh, have been overlooked.Sunday Game Footballer of the Year: Barry McCambridge
