The official Sunny trailer shows Rashida Jones leading the cast of Apple TV+'s upcoming dark comedy-drama.

The series is scheduled to make its debut starting on July 10.In the Sunny trailer, Jones’ character Suzie decides to investigate the mystery behind her husband and son’s sudden disappearance. She slowly figures out that her husband was hiding a lot of things from her, including the true nature of his work.
“The series follows Suzie, an American woman living in Kyoto, Japan, whose life is upended when her husband and son disappear in a mysterious plane crash,” reads the logline. “As ‘consolation’ she’s given Sunny, one of a new class of domestic robots made by her husband’s electronics company. Though at first, Suzie resents Sunny’s attempts to fill the void in her life, gradually they develop an unexpected friendship.
Sunny is created, written, and executive produced by Katie Robbins, based on Colin O’Sullivan’s Dark Manual novel. The series also stars Hidetoshi Nishijima as Masa Sakamoto, Joanna Sotomura as Sunny, Judy Ongg as Noriko Sakamoto, and more.
