St Helens came from behind to move two points clear at the top of the Betfred Super League with victory over Catalans Dragons.Tom Johnstone gave the Dragons an early lead with the only try of a hard-fought opening 30 minutes at the Totally Wicked Stadium on Friday but Konrad Hurrell restored parity.The hosts then took control after the interval with tries from Sione Mata'utia, Catalans-bound Tommy Makinson and Matty Lees, while Mark Percival converted all four.
Saints finally clawed their way back into the contest 10 minutesbefore the interval as player of the match Jack Welsby found a crack in the Dragons' defence and sent Hurrell over with a superb one-handed pass from just above the ground.Percival's goal levelled matters on the scoreboard but the visitors ended the first period with just 12 players after Franck Maria was sin-binned for a high tackle on George Delaney.
