Superman’s vulnerability to the Joker revealed.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Warning! Preview pages ahead for Batman/Superman: World's Finest #25!Even Superman knows deep down in his core that there’s no way he can ever beat the Joker. The Man of Steel has faced some of the DC Universe’s most evil villains from Lex Luthor and his insidious mind games to Darkside and the dreadful tyranny he inspires.
Out of continuity, however, the Joker hurt Superman worse than any other villain before and brought total chaos to the DC Universe. In Injustice, Joker tricked Superman into killing a pregnant Lois Lane by making Clark think he was attacking Doomsday. Joker even rigged a detonator to Lois’ heartbeat, resulting in Superman inadvertently destroying Metropolis with a bomb. The horror of what Clark did caused Superman to snap and brutally kill the Joker.
Joker rants and raves all the way as the World’s Finest drag him to the Asylum. Ignoring the clown’s rantings, Superman admits that he has no idea how Batman handles the Joker. Clark feels that the enemies he’s used to fighting at least think rationally, making them far easier to deal with. Batman replies that the Joker is actually somewhat predictable if one can imagine the world through the demented villains’ eyes, something Batman believes Superman is simply incapable of doing.
What gives Joker an advantage over Superman is the villain’s mind is fractured in a way that Clark can’t even begin to comprehend. The reason Batman is able to continually reign the Joker in is because Bruce is a similarly broken individual and he knows how to look in the abyss and think like someone as evil as his nemesis. Clark, on the other hand, is a fundamentally good person and Superman can’t even begin to imagine the depths of depravity the Joker would sink to.
