There are calls for the New South Wales government to withdraw the more than 29,000 outstanding COVID fines after a judgment from the Supreme Court.

Two fines were ruled invalid in November – prompting Revenue NSW to cancel 33,000 infringements because they were too vague about the offence committed.

In its reasons for the decision, the court outlined what information is required for a fine to be valid.
