Home Alone has been voted as the nation's favourite Christmas movie of all time but many still don't know a lot of fun facts about the 1990s film. The Chris Columbus film tells the story of eight-year-old Kevin McCallister who is accidentally left behind when his family go on holiday for the festive period. Kevin is left to defend his home all on his own after two robbers attempt to break into his home but the youngster is prepared to put up a fight like no other.
Despite the iconic film now being over 34-years-old and recently being voted the nation's favourite Christmas movie of all time according to a nationwide survey, there are still many facts emerging about the 90s classic which fans are not aware of. Fake snow was not budgeted for the 1990 film but there ended up being a blizzard during filming which brought some extra Christmas magic to the McCallister's home. Fuller McCallister is actually played by Macaulay Culkin's real-life little brother Kieran Culkin. In the film Fuller is one of Kevin cousin's who is notorious for 'wetting the bed'. The Succession star has had a very successful acting career with his latest film 'A Real Pain' being released in January 2024. The old black and white film 'Angels with Filthy Souls' that Kevin watches isn't actually a real movie. Director Chris Columbus created the fake violent gangster film, featuring Ralph Foody, which Kevin uses to scare away burglars and pizza delivery boys.
