Police are searching for someone who allegedly shot two men in central Phoenix Sunday morning.Phoenix police say the shooting took place near 40th Street and Thomas Road around 8 a.m.A man, 48-year-old Alan David Whitworth, was pronounced dead at the scene, and another person, identified at this time as a 19-year-old man, was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Police say that the 19-year-old may not survive.
Jeanna Avery tells ABC15 Whitworth was her future son-in-law and the teen her nephew.'So, it's scary out there not knowing what's coming next,' said Avery about the situation their family is now in.Over the phone, she shared memories of Whitworth on behalf of her daughter Mariah Avery, who was too heartbroken to speak.'He was the hardest working, smartest man I've ever met,' said Jeanna. 'The most caring, loving, wonderful father.
