Jordan Cesar Hernandez, 35, was captured Sunday afternoon in Decatur. Authorities say he and a 36-year-old woman killed a man in Lawrence County and kidnapped his wife, who was later able to escape and seek help.
The suspect in a deadly home invasion in Lawrence County was taken into custody after reportedly firing shots at police officers during a chase.The ordeal began early Saturday with a home invasion at 1557 County Road 245, according to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.
The kidnapping victim managed to escape her captors while they were trying to force her to withdraw money from an ATM in the East Lawrence area. Hernandez and Moore were identified as the suspects. Authorities charged them with murder, robbery and kidnapping. During the chase, authorities said, Hernandez fired multiple shots out the window of the vehicle towards officers.
