A man from Liverpool has appeared in court charged with manslaughter after a Merseyside woman died on the Isle of Man.
John Meadows, of Verney Crescent in Allerton, appeared at Douglas Courthouse on Monday. He was charged with causing the death of a 57-year-old woman from Merseyside who was visiting the island. The Isle of Man Constabulary said that an altercation occurred outside the Palace Hotel on Central Promenade, Douglas at around 9.20pm on Friday . The woman, who was visiting the island from Merseyside died in hospital following the incident.READ MORE: Off-duty police officer told jogger he would 'flatten' himMr Meadows appeared in court today from police custody. There was no application for bail made and he was remanded until his next court appearance.
