A man has been charged after a takeaway worker was allegedly threatened and racially abused while carrying out his job in Blackpool . Police were called to Pizza Land shortly after midnight on March 29, 2025, following reports of a 'group of aggressive males'.
Officers attended after a request for assistance and found that a member of staff had allegedly been threatened with violence and subjected to racial abuse. Following an investigation and consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, Michael George, 52, of Furness Avenue, Blackpool, has been charged with a racially aggravated public order offence. He is due to appear before Lancaster Magistrates' Court on June 5.
In a statement on Facebook today , Blackpool Police said: "A man has been charged with a Racially Aggravated Public Order Offence following an incident in Blackpool. Officers attended an incident at Pizzaland shortly after midnight on the 29th March 2025 following a request for help with a group of aggressive males.
"The victim was threatened with violence and racially abused whilst doing his job. Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, Michael George aged 52 of Furness Avenue Blackpool has been charged with a Racially aggravated public order offence.
