The canine was allegedly killed by the man's dog
The man was arrested over both suspected offences after officers from Lancashire’s rural policing unit recovered a quad bike. The vehicle had been in use on a farm when it was stolen in the latest of a long line of machinery thefts across the county.
Officers in the rural areas have devoted increasing time and resources to tackling such offences and the latest recovered vehicle resulted in a man’s arrest over the death of a dog.A police spokesperson said: “A busy few days for West Rural Task Force! Following the theft-and subsequent police recovery-of a farm quad a male was arrested yesterday. The same chap was also arrested on suspicion of killing a dog with his own dog under Animal Welfare legislation.
