The woman is understood to have fallen out of a window during the late night incident on Friday, November 3. The pair were rushed to hospital after sustaining serious injuries.
Police were called to reports of a large dog attacking people and being on the loose. They believe the attack started in a flat on Hickling Court, Mansfield, shortly after 11pm on Friday, November 3.
A woman fell from the window during the incident and was, alongside a man, taken to hospital for treatment, reports Nottinghamshire Live.READ MORE: Man pronounced dead on Glasgow street after being found seriously injured The dog, believed to be an XL Bully type, was seized by cops from a nearby property and taken to secure kennels. A spokesperson said: "Any witnesses, or anyone with any information about this incident, is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 823 of 3 November." The Government recently introduced a ban on the ownership of such American XL Bully dogs. From February 1 next year, 2024, it will be a criminal offence to own one of the dogs in England and Wales unless the owner has applied for exemption.
