An SUV fell on the damaged portion of a steel bridge in Merila Barangay Ubaldo D. Laya in this city at around 12:45 in the morning on Wednesday, June 22.
ILIGAN CITY – The bridge was severely damaged by massive flooding spawned by a low pressure area that hit the city on March 7 this year.The car was driven by a certain Abdullah Rasol y Guro, 34 years old, single, a resident of Ilian Bacolod Kalawi, Bacolod Grande, Lanao Del Sur, was travelling through barangay road of Purok 1, Merila, Ubaldo D. Laya.
Fortunately for Guro and his three passengers, the vehicle did not fall on the water underneath the bridge after hitting the damaged pavement. Guro and his three passengers sustained minor injuries. With Guro inside the car were Abdul Salam Guro Lidasan, 16 years old, student; Joharisah Ali, 17 years old, single, and Sittie Iman Sanguan, 19 years old, single, both from MSU-Marawi City.
Ali and Sanguan were brought to Gregorio T. Lluch Memorial Hospital by the responding Rescue Ambulance for medical treatment but later refused to undergo medical treatment.
