SWARMS of aggressive mosquitoes are set to plague the UK after the coronavirus lockdown created a “perfect breeding ground” for the disease-carrying insects.
The mosquitoes are are native to South East Asia but in recent years have made their way over to cooler climates.“Asian Tiger mosquitoes are found every summer in the UK and as temperatures are set to rise this week, many more people will be getting bitten. “Mosquitoes will be much hungrier after lockdown as there were far less people out and about, so will now feed more aggressively when they've finally got the opportunity to do so!
Mr Carter added that if you are faced with an invasion from mosquitoes then the best thing to do is cover your arms and legs with suitable clothing, but he did warn that they can still bite through jeans so advised for people to wear repellent where possible.BUG BITES
