Grantham's own Ross Edgley fights the tide in an epic race against Olympic cyclist, Sir Chris Hoy 🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️

World Oceans Day, Lincolnshire's own long-distance swimmer and environmental enthusiast, Ross Edgley, threw down the gauntlet against Sir Chris Hoy, the incredibly successful Olympic cyclist from Scotland.

The race entailed Sir Chris Hoy cycling the harsh periphery of Loch Harport, confronting a formidable 579 metres of elevation. Simultaneously, our Grantham hero, Ross Edgley, swam through the turbulent waters of the loch.The Scottish cycling legend clinched victory, traversing 28.6km in 54 minutes at an average speed of 31.6km per hour. Ross Edgley put up a tough fight, covering 5.6km of challenging waters in a respectable 1 hour 5 minutes.
