The Royal British Legion's Field of Remembrance at Lydiard Park will be opened on Wednesday.

The field will be open to members of the public to visit and pay their respects until 19 NovemberThe Royal British Legion Field of Remembrance in Swindon is being officially opened on Wednesday, with a special service taking place.After a two-minute silence, a bugler will play the Last Post, and the Exhortation will be read.

More than 3,500 commemorative markers have been planted, each carrying a personal message to someone who died. Each November, the public is invited to come and honour loved ones who lost their lives serving in the armed forces.There is also a daily two-minute silence at 14:00 GMT, while the field will be open between 10:00 to 15:30.

More than 55,000 tributes will be planted across the six Royal British Legion Fields of Remembrance taking the form of a Remembrance Cross, Muslim Crescent, Star of David, Sikh Khanda, Hindu Om or Secular Tribute.
