SWS: 93% of Filipinos experienced impacts of climate change in past 3 years

The survey found that 93% of respondents have personally felt the effects of climate change. This includes 17% who experienced severe impact, 52% moderate impact and 24% little impact.

Of the participants, 88% also said they can do something to reduce climate risk, SWS said.

When presented with some solutions to reduce the negative effects of climate change, planting trees and protecting forests and saving energy at home emerged as the most known solutions that the respondents are aware of. The face-to-face survey was conducted from Dec. 10 to 14, 2022, with 1,200 adult participants. Respondents included 300 each from Metro Manila, balance Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao.

The sampling error margins are ±2.8% for national percentages, ±5.7% each for Metro Manila, balance Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
