There are flood warnings in place for heavy rainfall that could lead to flash flooding, with the system expected to move south later today and into tomorrow.An excavator was spotted opening a channel to let water run-off, as flood risks mount with heavy falls around the city.
They include Baryulgil Public School, Coffee Camp Public School, Corndale Public School, Longneck Lagoon Environmental Education Centre, Megalong Public School, North Star Public School, Orama Public School, Tulloona Public School, AI-Faisal College in Auburn, and Bhaktivedanta Swami Gurukula School in Eungella.
Steve Bernasconi from the Bureau of Meteorology echoed the premier's forecast, predicting "clear skies" on Sunday. "From a wind perspective, we are talking about easterly winds, averaging 60-70km/h with gusts up to 90km/h," Bernasconi said.
