NSW Police said there were reports of gunshots fired just before 10.30am on Wednesday on Narelle Crescent in Greenacre.Mahmoud Abbas, 30, was shot outside a Greenacre home in Sydney's south west "It's understood the man was outside the home when he was approached by an unknown person and shot," police said.
Abbas was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.Police believe it was a targeted attack.Police at the scene of the shooting at Greenacre in Sydney.
