Tens of thousands of passengers were stuck at Sydney Olympic Park station, or on other stations and trains between there and Central, due to vandalism at an Ashfield relay room. A standard 30-minute journey for some turned into several infuriating hours. Commuters received very little information and were rightly angered by the debacle.
“It’s a systemic problem. Everyone is trying their best, but there is a lack of co-ordination, processes and communication,” he said.
