Sydneysiders have woken up to heavy fog blanketing the city causing chaos for commuters - with the ferry system temporarily shut down and a number of flights delayed

The fog was widespread across the city including the CBD with drivers having to take more caution in the early-morning commute to work."Reduced visibility in fog will make road conditions dangerous during Saturday in all suburbs,” the BOM said.

Ferries were prevented from arriving and departing Circular Quay from 7am with conditions too dangerous to continue running the ferry services. Delays also affected Sydney Airport with a handful of flights pushed back on the advisement of Airservices Australia at 6am according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
