Nightdive Studios has given a new release date window for their long-delayed sci-fi remake project System Shock Remake.

The team explained the new release date in their latest Kickstarter post. “the scope and scale of the project has evolved dramatically and with Prime Matter joining the project it’s enabled us to focus on quality-of-life improvements, bug fixing, and localization support.” It seems however, the end is in sight with Nightdive claiming that these are “the last major steps towards releasing a game we’re all incredibly proud of.”
The extra time has allowed them to add a lot of detail to areas like the Citadel, and even add some new enemies for the player to face as an extra challenge on top of the original.including the much-touted dismemberment system. System Shock is, of course, a hallowed name in the world of shooters – being the game that would go on to spawn other classics like Bioshock.It was then slipped into 2022Whether this date will stick is still to be seen, of course, but it sounds like the team are hopeful this will be the one.
