A 34-year-old Tacoma man was killed in a six-vehicle crash on northbound Interstate 5 Tuesday in Lakewood.
A 34-year-old Tacoma man was killed in a six-vehicle crash on northbound Interstate 5 on March 19, 2024. The collision, which happened at 5:16 p.m., snarled traffic for five hours near 47th Avenue and Bridgeport Way Southwest, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation and the Washington State Patrol.

The WSP identified the dead driver as Eloy Casillas.
State Patrol said the driver who will possibly face charges — a 43-year-old Kent man — was traveling north on I-5 when he crashed into five vehicles that were stopped in front of him. The roadway was partially blocked for five hours, according to the WSP.
