The Taguig City government welcomed the Philippine women’s national football team after they made history by scoring their first goal and win at the FIFA Women’s World Cup on July 25.
The city government held a motorcade and a meet and greet for the women’s football team at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig last Aug. 5. The motorcade went around High Street and Uptown in BGC. The athletes shared their team jerseys with people waiting for them. Mayor Lani Cayetano, Vice Mayor Arvin Alit, and councilors welcomed the team at Market! Market! mall . A program and press conference was held at the event.
“This year marks many significant milestones for Filipinas, the Philippines women's national football team, as they made their debut on FIFA Women's World Cup!” said the mayor in a Facebook post on Aug. 7.
