Two Doo-Wop-style hotels have been renovated and combined into one Wildwood Crest resort.
The project combined the former Oceanview Motel and Royal Hawaiian into the new destination with more than 200 guest rooms, three restaurants and multiple pools.
Members of the Doo-Wop Preservation League, Wildwood Historical Society and Greater Wildwood Hotel and Motel Association advocated to preserve the architectural character of the hotels.them, according to a press release from the company. The project blends architecture from the past with modern dynamics and features.
The Madison Resort Wildwood Crest officially opens on Thursday May 16, 2024 after combining and renovating two former Doo-Wop motels into one beachfront complex.“On behalf of the Borough of Wildwood Crest, I look forward to the opening of Madison Resort Wildwood Crest,” Mayor Don Cabrera said in a statement. “We have watched the progression of a once dilapidated motel evolve into a first-class resort in the hub of our community right before our eyes.
In addition to regular hotel stays, the resort will host weddings and has five conference rooms. There will be cabanas and poolside seating for more than 100, as well as two hot tubs, rooftop event spaces, two fitness centers and pet-friendly accommodations.
