A restaurant and takeaway on the Lincolnshire coast has been stripped of its licence after it was slapped with a 0-star food hygiene rating. Fantasy Grill and Balti, located on Sea Lane in Ingoldmells , was part of the Fantasy Island theme park which attracts thousands of visitors every year.
It served a range of food from pizzas and curries to kebabs and burgers. The premises was inspected by the Food Standards Agency on May 28 and it was deemed that "urgent improvement" was necessary. Hygienic food handling, cleanliness and condition of facilities and building, and management of food safety were all inspected. The inspectors decided that there was "major improvement necessary" in all three areas and handed the takeaway a 0-star rating.A spokesperson for Fantasy Island said: "After the annual food hygiene inspection, the proprietor did not meet the minimum 3-star rating required by the terms and conditions of their market licence.
Fantasy Grill and Balti had just a 2.5-star rating on Tripadvisor, with 26 out of 48 reviewers rating it 'terrible'.
