THERE are around 375,000 new cancer cases in the UK every year, and Cancer Research UK says about 38 percent of these cases are preventable. Nonetheless, some organisations have warned that taking supplements for cancer prevention is not the way forward.
The charity says: “Some of the trials even raised concern by reporting a higher incidence of high grade prostate cancer and type 2 diabetes in people who took selenium supplements.”
