The Geneva senior will continue playing the sport after signing a scholarship to play at Coastal Alabama Community College in Bay Minette.

Coming from an athletic family with parents who played collegiately and an older sister who is currently playing collegiate volleyball, Johnson played football, basketball and baseball growing up and participated in cross country, basketball and baseball on the high school level.People are also reading… “Ever since I touched a basketball, I fell in love with it,” Johnson said. “It is something I don’t think I could ever get tired of doing.

This past year, he had a standout season rolling for the Panthers before a season-ending ankle injury suffered during the Downtown Dothan Hoops Classic. In 18 games played, he was averaging 15.4 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.9 steals a game. He knocked down 77.5 percent of his free throws and hit 30.9 percent on 3-pointers .

Johnson’s injury also knocked him out of most of the baseball season, though he rehabbed and played in the final five games.
