Ms Kumar was a rising hockey star, playing for London’s Southgate Hockey team and competing for England at under-18 and under-16 level.
Police were first called shortly after 4am and officers found the two students dead on Ilkeston Road, which is lined with popular student pubs and bars.
Police have not yet formally identified the victims, but Barnaby has been named by friends and family.His grandparents confirmed the news to theBarnaby Webber, a university student killed in a rampage in Nottingham : “Barnaby was a friend of mine he was just walking home from a club like we all do. They just got unlucky. They were five minutes from home and stabbed by some random guy.”
“Playing more than 30 games for the club, scoring 622 runs, and taking 29 wickets, his memory will live on.
