You’ll stop to say hello to lamp posts, benches and bins to be set up in Nottingham
People could soon have conversations with lamp posts, benches and even bins in Nottingham. Some of the city's street furniture will be able to message passers-by who interact with them as part of a joint University of Nottingham and Nottingham City Council project to gather views on what climate change means for local residents.
Participants will be encouraged to share their views, get information about what Nottingham is doing to tackle climate change and find out how to get involved. The year-long project is a joint effort from University of Nottingham, Nottingham City Council, and research company Hello Lamp Post. It is hoped the scheme will play a crucial role in helping Nottingham to achieve carbon neutral status by 2028 through increasing public awareness and helping local decision-makers to understand public attitudes towards climate change.
