Road spikes have been used to stop an Adelaide taxi passenger who refused to get out of the vehicle and then stole it when the driver was getting help, police say.
A passenger who allegedly refused to exit an Adelaide taxi and then stole it when the driver sought help from police has been arrested, after road spikes were used in the city's CBD early this morning.The woman was allegedly a passenger in the vehicle and refused to leavePolice allege the 35-year-old woman got behind the wheel of the cab when the driver stopped at an Adelaide police station about 3:30am to get help, because the passenger had refused to leave the vehicle.
The woman allegedly then refused directions from police to stop, prompting them to resort to road spikes. "Police successfully spiked the cars tyres at the intersection of Currie Street and West Terrace and the driver was arrested without incident," police said.The woman is scheduled to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on October 30.
