Fans attending Taylor Swift’s massive Eras Tour when it comes to the UK and Ireland in a few months have been given a major ticket update.
But fans trying to secure tickets when they first went on sale shared their frustration when they discovered that the shows were regarded by Ticketmaster as a ‘lead booker’ event, meaning that the holder of the card used to purchase the tickets was required to attend the show in person. The move meant that those who had intended to give the tickets as gifts or those who had bought tickets for their children, were unable to transfer or pass them on.
In the FAQs section of the Ticketmaster website, one question asks: "Are The UK Shows ‘Lead Booker’ Events?" In response, the ticket provider states: "There has been a change to the terms and conditions of sale for tickets purchased for Taylor Swift’s UK shows to remove the ‘lead booker’ requirement.
