Two children have died and six are in a critical condition following a 'horror movie' knife attack close to a Taylor Swift-themed yoga class in Southport, Merseyside
Pop icon Taylor Swift expressed her heartache over the Southport stabbings that occurred on Monday, which tragically resulted in the death of two children and left several others critically injured. The horrific knife attack unfolded near a venue hosting a Taylor Swift -themed yoga class.
Authorities confirmed that a 17 year old from Banks village was apprehended by Merseyside Police on suspicion of murder and attempted murder after the "major incident" at a Hart Street property. Chief Constable Serena Kennedy of Merseyside Police revealed that apart from the fatalities, nine other children were hurt during the "ferocious" rampage, with two adults also fighting for their lives in critical condition.
Fellow broadcaster and Strictly star Dan Walker described the incident as "truly awful" and sent his support. "Thinking of all the families of the children involved. We live in strange times", he added in a Twitter post.Merseyside Police Chief Constable Serena Kennedy revealed on Monday that besides the two children who lost their lives, nine children were injured in the attack and two adults are also in a critical condition.
Following the event, Alder Hey declared a major incident and urged parents to avoid bringing their children to the emergency department unless absolutely necessary. Tragically, two children are feared to have lost their lives, with nine others hospitalised, six of whom are in critical condition. A heartfelt tribute to Leanne on Facebook from an individual who had attended a training course with her described her as a "beautiful young creative" deeply committed to aiding children.
