Taylor Swift has spoken about her love for the Lake District in unearthed footage from her documentary film.
"These artists that moved there." Referencing the Lake District's association with poetry seemingly inspired the chorus to her song, The Lakes, which states: "Take me to the lakes where all the poets went to die. Taylor then goes on to explain the deeper reason behind why she chose the lyrics in the song and what it meant, particularly as the album was written during the coronavirus pandemic and reflects on the feelings of lockdown. The pair spoke about the feeling of "escaping" and ridding of things that may not be working in your own life.
