The team behind Greater Manchester pub The Black Friar have announced they will be opening a new neighbourhood café next month.
Named after owner Neil Burke’s two children, the Salford café will have a family-friendly atmosphere with a menu created by head chef Morgan Lane, who previously worked at Pot Kettle Black.The café will serve as a sister venue to The Black Friar pub, which was brought back to life in 2021 following a £1.4m revamp after its building, which dates back to 1886, lay derelict for more than 15 years.
A variety of speciality coffees will also be available to order, including matcha and Vietnamese coffee sourced from local artisan suppliers. There will also be refreshing house-made juices and smoothies, as well as unique twists on classic brunch cocktails. The café will feature cosy indoor seating, as well as al fresco tables. There will also be a coffee hatch that will serve takeaway drinks and snacks for those wanting something on the move.
