Team GB are having a medal rush so far today
As of 12pm, Great Britain has today won four medals - upping its current total of wins to 16. The country has already won a third of yesterday’s total to date this morning alone and currently sits in fourth place on the medal table.
The monumental event, which Yee completed with a time of 1:43:33, saw people buzzing with excitement. “Un-Yee-lievable,” one person posted on social, whilst another added: “WOW! What a run from Alex Yee. Where did that come from?! To make up 15 seconds in the final lap is incredible!” Celebrating their win online, one person said: “They never gave up! The #Olympics are showcasing that even when the path may be tough, you should always chase your dreams; something we try to install in all of our young people! Well done to the #TeamGB women's Quad Sculls, and Kent's own, Emily Craig!”
People took to social media to take in the delight of this morning’s successes. One person wrote: “I am overwhelmed with pride, nearly moved to tears, by these incredible moments of sport. In times of deep sorrow and division within our nation, this victory is a beacon of hope. We needed this triumph. Bravo.”
