Of course it was expected that Tears of the Kingdom would be well received by critics, but it seems the new game might have surpassed all expectations on review aggregator sites too.
Over on OpenCritic, The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom now sits pretty as the highest rated game on the site. That puts it in rarified air and taking the record from the site’s previously highest rated games Super Mario Odyssey and, as you’d probably expected, the previous Zelda title Breath of the Wild at 96.
At the time of writing, that average score comes from 63 critic reviews – many of which you can check out in our recent – with plenty of 10s and 5-star ratings making up the ‘100% Critics Recommend’ badge of honour proudly displayed on its page.
