Nintendo has revealed that Link will have access to a recipe book in the upcoming Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, giving players a useful guide when they’re cooking.
Cooking as a mechanic was a big part of the previous game, Breath of the Wild, and looks to be making a return in the sequel. It saw players able to gather items that they had collected in the wild and cook them together to make meals that gave benefits and buffs. Experimentation was the order of the day, however, as it wouldn’t be clear what you’d get from a concoction until it was made up.
It’s definitely a welcome addition, as previously gamers would have to keep a record themselves of how they made their favourite recipes, or refer to guides online in order to remember their most useful dishes. Now, that won’t be a problem anymore in the new game -although it remains to be seen how many dishes Link will be able to make.
It’s not the only new addition in cooking either, as the Twitter account has also revealed that Tears of the Kingdom will also include a new item in the form of a Portable Pot. It’ll act similar to the pots found around the world and let Link make some delicious meals while out in the wilds – however, this portable version will only be able to be used once, so you’ll have to choose wisely what you make in it.
Tears of the Kingdom is set to launch on May 12, 2023 for the Nintendo Switch. For more on the game, check out our
