The National Cyber Force (NCF) is seeking problem-solvers and tech enthusiasts for its new headquarters in South Ribble. Trainees will join a cyber specialist development programme, leading to roles in the Computer Network Exploitation team, defending the UK from digital threats. The program, starting in January 2026, offers training in both theory and real-world simulations. Applicants need not have formal STEM qualifications and can come from various backgrounds.

Training for the roles – which will be delivered on-site in Samlesbury and at another unspecified location in Lancashire – begins in January 2026. It will involve lectures and seminars, but also “real-world simulations” to provide practical experience in preparation for the work. Once their training is complete, the new recruits will become part of what the job advert – published by the Government Communications Headquarters – describes as “the front line of our mission to protect the UK from harm”.
