Hugely popular Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso ended after three seasons in 2023, but now it is set to return for a fourth season - however one fan favourite character may not be back
Comedy series Ted Lasso , one of Apple TV+’s most successful shows, could return for a fourth season, even though the third season in 2023 was expected to be the last we would see of big-hearted American soccer coach Ted, as played by Jason Sudeikis, and the Richmond football team.
However, according to Deadline, the studio that makes the series, Warner Bros Television, has signed up original British cast members Hannah, Brett and Jeremy Swift, who played Higgins, for a new series of the show. It is also believed that Jason, Brendan and Juno Temple, who played publicist Keeley, will be approached for the new series.
However, some fans are concerned that one favourite from the show has not been mentioned in the news. Phil Dunster, who plays footballer Jamie Tartt, has not had his contract renewed as yet, possibly because he is tied to filming two other series, Prime Video’s thriller The Devil’s Hour and Apple TV+ show Surface.
One viewer wrote: “Ted Lasso season 4 should just be 10 episodes of Jamie Tartt being happy and loved,” while others panicked at the news that Phil and his beloved character Jamie may not return. “Don’t bring back Ted Lasso without Jamie Tartt!” wrote one, while another said: “There is no Ted Lasso without Jamie Tartt,” and a third commented: “The gasp I just let out… literally they can keep it I don’t want this without Jamie Tartt what the hell.”
