The mum of a teenage boy who came close to death after inhaling laughing gas at Parklife Festival says a ban won't stop kids using the drug as Class C is only a 'slap on the wrist'.

This means the possession of laughing gas with the intent of getting high could see repeat offenders face up to two years in jail.
Cathy, from Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, said: "I think it is a good idea but I think nitrous oxide should have been made a class B drug or higher because what is making it a class C drug going to do. Nitrous oxide is bought in cannisters and used legally for anesthesia or as a propellant for whipped cream, however it is often pumped into balloons to be inhaled by those hunting for a 'high'.
