Teenager's funeral brings town to a standstill as hundreds of mourners gather at football ground
Hundreds of mourners lined the town's streets to say a final farewell to 16-year-old Dean Barnes, who died following the fatal smash on Ainsdale Grove in Reddish in January.
Traffic was brought to a standstill as a sea of motorbikes made their way along Mercian Way on the way to the ground. Some performed wheelies as they weaved in and out of traffic while others lit flares. It is now more than a month since the teenager was killed when the motorbike he was travelled on collided with a stationary vehicle on January 24. Dean was ‘riding a stolen off road motorbike’ with another male at the time, a coroner has heard.
