Teen stabbed in back in Chicago's Loop
CHICAGO -- A 15-year-old is hospitalized after he was stabbed in Chicago 's Loop Sunday afternoon. Now Chicago Police are searching for a group of people they say jumped the teen. While theater-goers were leaving a show at the Goodman Theater near North Dearborn Avenue and West Lake Street, Chicago Police say the boy was stabbed in the neck in broad daylight.
'On Mother's Day, that's unacceptable for the city.' A witness tells CBS 2 that a good Samaritan jumped into action using a ripped t-shirt to put pressure on the stab wound until first responders arrived, likely saving his life. An ambulance rushed the victim to Lurie Children's Hospital. With the backdrop of Mother's Day, the stabbing left many who typically visit The Loop on these warm spring days thinking more about security.
