Rhiannon Skye Whyte died in hospital after being stabbed at Bescot Stadium station in Walsall
An 18 year old man, who reportedly arrived in the UK on a small boat in July, faces murder charges after a 27 year old asylum hotel worker was fatally stabbed at Walsall's Bescot Stadium station.
The charge escalated to murder after Ms Whyte succumbed to her injuries in the hospital. Reports from The Sun indicate that the accused entered the UK this July by crossing the English Channel from France via an inflatable dinghy, before seeking asylum status.Ms Whyte had completed her shift at 11pm and intended to catch the 11.21pm train to Walsall. Shortly after her shift ended, at 11.
The young man accused of this heinous crime has been detained and is scheduled to appear before Wolverhampton Crown Court on November 19. Tributes have been paid to Rhiannon, describing her as "the most selfless person" who was "brave, quirky, funny, and always there for anyone who needed it". One heartfelt message read: "There is not enough paper in the world to even begin to write a tribute for you, but no one deserves it more."
