Police are hunting for a knife-wielding suspect after a teen working at a Brooklyn soup kitchen was stabbed by one of its clients on Wednesday, authorities
said.
The incident unfolded on Aug. 7 at 4:14 p.m. inside Masbia of Flatbush, located at 1372 Coney Island Ave., when a patron began arguing with a worker distributing food, police said. Cops say a 17-year-old boy working in a city summer youth program asked the man to leave and escorted him out of the premises, but the suspect wasn’t done there.
Law enforcement officials say the individual brandished a knife and stabbed the teen in the stomach before making a run for it on foot northbound on Coney Island Avenue. EMS transported the victim to Maimonides Medical Center in stable condition. EMS rushed the victim to Maimonides Medical Center, where he was treated for his wound and survived his injury.
Police describe the assailant as being about 50 years old and sporting a gray beard. He was last seen wearing a blue hat, blue shirt, red sweater, and beige pants.
