Officers first saw a car driven suspiciously
Police have ordered a teenager not to return to part of Stockport after discovering drugs, a knife and CS spray. Neighbourhood officers on patrol in Brinnington first noticed a vehicle being driven suspiciously yesterday .
The car was stopped before officers carried out a search. They found the driver, a 17-year-old boy, had been carrying class A drugs and CS spray. Officers later searched the boy's home address, under Section 18 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act. There, police recovered a knife.Greater Manchester Police says that the teenager has now been issued strict conditions not to enter the SK5 area of Stockport, which includes Brinnington and Reddish. Police Inspector Barber, of GMP Stockport, said: “Officers have been working hard to keep the community safe and tackle criminal behaviour.
"This is an example of using highly effective stop and search powers to keep the public and community a safer place for all. This is a dangerous weapon that has now, thankfully, seized. "Possessing such items will not be tolerated in any area of Stockport.” Information about drugs or weapons being stored in Greater Manchester can be passed onto police online, by calling 101, or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
